In 1980 Phil and Sharyn Waters were appointed by WorldVenture as church planters to Japan. They returned to the United States in 1989, and since health problems prevented them from returning, the Waters were appointed by Missions Door to pioneer a ministry to Japanese in Los Angeles. Today the Waters’ love for the Japanese people and their culture is undiminished.
